In a December 4, 2020 letter, Dr. Milner urges agencies and courts to continue working together to ensure that access to justice continues and that critical judicial oversight occur in child welfare proceedings during these difficult times. The Children's Bureau urges thoughtful consideration to the unique circumstances of individual children and families in making safety, permanency, and well-being decisions and call on everyone to do their part in preventing unnecessary family separation and trauma and sustaining critical family connections for children in foster care.
