The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the recent Lived Experience Advisory Board discussion on understanding & supporting LGBTQ2S+ youth in foster care. The discussion highlighted the lack of acceptance and support for youth, as well as variations in support and policies depending on location. Additionally, the intersectionality of identities and experiences was discussed, with a focus on the challenges faced by LGBTQ2S+ youth of color. This report will provide an overview of the four main themes that emerged from the discussion, as well as quotes from participants that illustrate each theme.
